How We Build

Autosports Engineering has been machining drivetrain conversion hardware in Lakeland, Florida since 2016. Every ASE-branded part is designed, machined, and finished in our own facility. We don't outsource machining, and we don't private-label someone else's parts.

Material

ASE parts are cut from US-sourced 6061-T6 billet aluminum bar stock. We buy domestic stock because it arrives with material documentation, and because it keeps our supply chain inside the country — which matters both for the tariff exposure our customers would otherwise carry and for the export-controlled work we take on.

Machining and finishing under one roof

Our facility runs CNC machining, 3D scanning, CAD design, and anodizing in-house.

Keeping anodizing in-house matters more than it sounds. Anodizing adds thickness and changes part dimensions. When a shop sends parts out for finishing, tolerance stack-up becomes somebody else's problem. When we do it ourselves, it's ours — and we control it. That is a large part of why our adapter plates and bell housings bolt up the way they're supposed to.

For conversions we haven't blueprinted yet, we can 3D scan a customer's engine and transmission and develop the adapter from measured geometry rather than from published dimensions that may or may not match what's actually in your car.

Federal registration

Autosports Engineering is registered with the U.S. Department of State's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls under ITAR.

To be precise about what that means: ITAR registration is an export-control registration, not a quality certification. It requires federal vetting of the company and its principals, and it obligates us to control technical data and manufacturing information to a federal standard. We mention it because it is independently verifiable, and because very few shops in the engine-swap space carry it — not because it certifies any individual part.

Material traceability

We are building material lot traceability into our manufacturing system — tracking material certificates, work orders, and serialized parts from bar stock through to finished part, so that any part we ship can be traced back to the material it was cut from.

Since 2016

We have been making these parts for a decade. The people answering your fitment question are the people who ran the machine that cut your part, which is why the answer you get is specific rather than generic — and why we can tell you when something won't work as well as when it will.
