Identifying your bell housing — J1, J2 or J3
The J-code refers to the Toyota A340 automatic bell housing and is stamped into the casting of your original automatic bell housing. A J3 plate can be requested after ordering at the same price.
CD or JK transmission?
Either works — CD and JK adapter plates interchange freely. The 350Z uses the CD009; the 370Z, G37 and later G35 use the JK. The only ASE product where the distinction matters is the front mount shifter.
Slave cylinder
Uses the T56 99 Camaro slave cylinder for correct throw, installed fully compressed against the pressure plate fingers with no preload.
Clutch note
350Z and 370Z clutch kits are the same for this conversion — only the release bearing differs, and that bearing is not used here because the conversion runs the T56 bearing instead.
Driveshaft
Not included — ordered separately. Steel and aluminum are both built on 3" tube, and carbon is also offered.
