Where does the rear mount shifter sit and how far does it adjust?

The native position is 30 inches from the bell housing face. The included 1.5 inch offset adapter can be fitted either way, giving a minimum of 28.5 inches and a maximum of 31.5 inches.

Is the offset adapter included or sold separately?

Included. The 1.5 inch offset extension adapter comes with the shifter, along with a billet shaft coupler.

Should I use the rear mount or the front mount shifter?

Use the rear mount for a Supra MKIV, Lexus SC300, SC400, GS300 or IS300. The front mount cannot be used in those chassis because it sits far enough forward to land in the centre of the radio.

What is involved in replacing the shifter selector shaft?

The entire transmission has to be disassembled to replace that shaft — it is not a tail section only job.

Is reverse lockout included?

Yes, reverse lockout is standard.

Does the CD or JK distinction matter for this shifter?

No. Only the front mount shifter has separate CD and JK versions, where the top plate bolt holes differ.

Which chassis does the rear mount shifter fit?

Lexus IS300, SC300, SC400 and GS300, Toyota Supra MKIV, Nissan 240SX S13 and S14, and others.

Shifter position and adjustment

The shifter sits natively at 30 inches from the bell housing face. The 1.5" offset adapter is included and can be fitted either way, giving a minimum of 28.5" and a maximum of 31.5". Measure your tunnel opening against that range before cutting.

Why rear mount for these chassis

The rear (tail) mount is the correct choice for the Supra MKIV, Lexus SC300, SC400, GS300 and IS300. The front mount shifter cannot be used in those cars — it sits far enough forward that it lands in the centre of the radio.

Service note

If the shifter selector shaft ever needs replacing, be aware that the entire transmission has to come apart to do it — not just the tail section.
